Anakin: Is it possible to learn this power?
Chancellor: Not from a Jedi.

Revenge of the Sith (2005) is a real Star Wars movie after The Empire Strikes Back (1980). It took 15 years and 3 Star Wars movies until a real story line surfaced to the epic. Revenge of the Sith has a few story lines which are well-put together: how Anakin turns to the Dark Side of the Force; why the Jedi Order cracks down; and how the Republic turns into an empire. The previous episode Attack of the Clones has done a good job in putting the last story line into place.
Revenge of the Sith itself is a double tragedy: a uprising star (Anakin) of the Jedi Order turns against the Order because he wants to learn the power to save the love of his life (Padme), and thus annihilating thousands of Jedi Knights across the galaxy; a democratic Republic falls into the hands of an authoritarian Emperor. Padme dies because Anakin has "gone on the path that I (Padme) cannot follow." Padme dies at child birth as seen by Anakin in his dream; the Republic falls when "democracy dies in a thunder of applause (to giving the Chancellor absolute power during wartime)".
