Jason Mraz in Boston

We picked the good one of the two nights for Jason Mraz's show. The other night had a worse weather. I had been here before for Diana Krall's show. I like the venue in that is half outdoor.

It came as a great surprise when he and his drummer appeared on a small stage in the middle of the cheaper seating area after a few songs on the main stage. That put us only ~50 feet from him and everyone was standing on their chairs to get a better look. We had a great time.

This is the second year I do the race. Our company does the race every year. We don't have enough women for a women's team, so we only have a men's team and a mixed team. I do the same leg I did last year, which is famous for its half mile (800 m) portage - run with the boat - in addition to the 2 miles paddling down the river. The weather was warm so as the water. It was a great time.

Tiananmen Memorial in Boston

It was hidden in a small shabby park in Chinatown. I only learned about it from the news when a prominent person from Hong Kong came and laid down the flowers. I hope I live long enough to see one set up in Tiananmen Square.

Oishii at Chestnut Hill

Oishii at Chestnut Hill is probably the most authentic and best sushi bar in Boston area. There is only 1 L-shape sushi bar and a small round table. It was a Thursday night and three sushi chefs and 3 waitresses served about 15 people at a time.

The sushi was very good, but it was the toro tatar and the grilled yellowtail that were most impressive. I have never had grilled fish with skin so crispy and flavored and meat so soft and juicy.

No point to get an iPhone

Today I drove down to Boston to have an hair cut and buy some Nissan noodles. I was driving on Memorial Drive on my way back where I spotted some funny clouds over Boston.

I took this picture using my new cell phone SE W890i. I got it from an online shop, and it turned out the phone was sent out from Tsuen Wan, where I had lived for over 20 years. This phone was not designed to take good pictures, but sometimes I like to take pictures with less than decent camera of cell phones because it can create the effect Lomo cameras make.

This phone can actually take some decent scenery and night shots. You just need to know the limit of your tools. I choose this phone over the rest because it plays good music and, most important of all, it is very thin and looks cool. I don't need to be online all the time, and AT&T's 3G network does not reach places I hang out most the time. I only need a thin and cool looking cell phone that can play music and take pictures with the Lomo feel. No point to get an iPhone.

4th July Boston Fireworks

This year's Boston Fireworks on 4th July was definitely the best in recent years.

Someone has filmed the whole event and uploaded onto youtube. The fireworks in the beginning of Part Two are most fascinating: they linger in the sky like jellyfishes swimming in the sea.

Celtics the NBA Champion!

Celtics beats the hell out of Lakers tonight and snitches the NBA Finals Championship at the Garden!

131-92!! Wow!!

Ray Allen has 7 3-pt shots and 5 steals. Paul Pierce has 38 points. Kevin Garnett is at full throttle and gets 14 rebounds.

The closest Lakers gets after the middle of the 2nd quarter is 22 points behind. The biggest lead of Celtics is 43 points 3 minutes before the game ends.

Kevin Garnett cries after the game, embracesand tells Bill Russel he's got his own (ring); Paul Pierce yanks "I have told you!" with his MVP trophy; Ray Allen kisses his baby son in his arm. Doc Rivers's shirt is tinted with pink Gatorade Pierce poured on him 3 minutes before the game ends.

After 22 years Celtics returns to the throne. The 17th NBA championship won on 17th June, 2008.

Old State House

It was a warm September night. You can call it a "restaurant crawl" - eat in one restaurant after another.

On the way to the second restaurant, I caught the lit Old State House of Massachusetts in my cell phone.
